Farm Story

Trotter Hill Alpacas is a small family run business that is devoted to breeding, raising and selling quality alpacas and the specialty yarn produced from their fleece. While alpacas are a recent family venture, livestock management has been a family experience since the 1960’s.In the early years, we stuck primarily to sheep and horses with the usual household pets mixed in. It has been a wonderful experience to discover that alpacas are a lot less work than horses, way more interesting than sheep, less messy than chickens and can actually pay for themselves and the rest of the household!

In the alpaca industry, we are looking to establish long term relationships based on enthusiasm, sharing and trust. We are thrilled with the selection of our foundation herd; which has diverse yet exceptional bloodlines and the fleece and conformation qualities that come with great genetics. It is our goal to raise and sell a small number of high end alpacas each year and build our reputation one alpaca at a time.
